Coach - 13 Red Assistant - Deanna Thomas

This is my second season with Club Red.  I am a native of Smithfield, NC.  I started playing volleyball in 7th grade after a teacher talked me in to trying out for the team.  I was hooked after that.  I played through Middle School, High School and one year at St. Andrews College as a Middle Blocker.  I then transferred to NC State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  I am married to Dirk and have two daughters, Taylor (13) and Kelli (11).  When Taylor was 8, I pulled her into volleyball so I could be involved with the sport again and have coached her ever since between recreation, club and beach volleyball.  Like me she has loved playing from the very beginning.  I have coached volleyball for 5 years mostly focusing on teaching proper technique in young players that have never played.  I work for Itron, Inc. as a Software Quality Engineer where I have worked almost 15 years.  I am excited to be back at Club Red for another season.
